I have worked as a professional counselor since May of 1997 but in August 2012 I started my own private practice. My mission statement is as follows: Rays of Hope Intervention is here to help those dealing with emotional and/or mental health issues, and/or substance abuse issues to learn of the risks of continued use through education, intervention, and/or treatment services to make low risk choices, as well as learning ways to recognize and identify irrational beliefs and thinking that influence their emotions and behaviors that they may lead a healthier and more productive life both personally and socially.
I provide professional counseling services to adolescents and adults via tele health. Tele health offers more flexibility for the client. I work with a wide array of behavioral health issues including but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and suicidal ideation. I have direct experience with the painful and complex thing that we call grief. I'm aware of the emotional impact that death and other life losses such as loss of contact with children can have on our overall well-being. I take a person-centered approach to counseling as I believe clients know themselves better than anyone.
