I have worked in the mental health field for 17 years, and have always been interested in traumas and healing. I believe healing is a collective experience and am honored to help guide others towards their goals. I am happy to provide genuine connection during times of disconnection and isolation. I also specialize in addictions ( substances; food; shopping; co-dependency; family members of addicts).
I work with adults, older adults, and couples in transition. I believe people have all the tools they need to supersede surviving and grow into thriving. Some times it is in our confusion and life's difficult points that we cannot see which tools we need to utilize in order to have the peace and joy we strive for. Working with an understanding and patient counselor can be the key to becoming empowered and making the necessary changes needed to achieve your goals. In therapy, we will always design custom goals and strive to meet them, together.

I am licensed in Kentucky and hold additional certification in trauma informed therapy, behavior modification, and substance abuse.
About Me If you’re reading this, you might be feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or stuck in painful patterns with the people who matter most to you. I want you to know that I understand how difficult that can feel. Relationships can be confusing—even overwhelming—and when they aren’t working, everything else can start to feel heavy too. I’ve been in that place myself, wondering why things feel so hard and wishing I could make sense of it all. That personal understanding is part of why I do this work. Feel free to call me for a complimentary consultation.

Life does not always go as planned. Bad things happen to good people, and good people sometimes make bad choices. People hurt people, experience loss and disappointment, and sometimes wake up living a life that feels foreign to them. In my role as a therapist, I have the opportunity to travel alongside others as they experience human struggle. I believe in the value of ALL people, regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, sexuality, religion, or life circumstance. I believe in the power of change in a person's life, and count it a privilege to be a part of that change.

I am licensed in IN, KY, OH with over 10 years' experience working with people with depression, anxiety, trauma and addictions.
I love working with clients to help them create a life worth living. One they don't want or have to run away from. Together, we identify your goals and create a plan to work toward these goals. For some clients, these are tangible goals like reducing clutter, reducing PTSD flashbacks, etc. Other clients work toward less tangible, but just as meaningful goals such as improving relationships with others, being more present in my life. Regardless of your goals, my job is to help you find ways to get there!

Together we can assess and begin treating your addiction and if needed find additional treatment options to support you.
Your life feels like it is spinning out of control and you are finding yourself drinking more to cope. It started out as a few beers at the end of the day but now you can hardly recognize who you have become. Your friends and family are worried about you and they don't even know how bad it really has gotten. You feel like you are living a double life and are exhausted from keeping it up.

Addiction Therapists
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
