Counseling Partners is currently providing both in-person and telehealth therapy.
I believe everyone comes to a time in life when they face their own personal “truth in the room”. This can be as simple as private self-reflection or as complicated as trying to save a relationship or marriage. Maybe you have a child who is out of control or a sibling who suffers from substance abuse. Whatever brings you to therapy, know that it is my goal to partner with you as you work toward personal growth and wellness. Strong individuals are able to have strong relationships and healthy lives with meaning and purpose. My ideal client is one who is ready to explore "who they are and to do it on purpose".

Sometimes life can seem to hit us all at once and we can feel overwhelmed and talking to a friend is just not cutting it. Therapy can provide a safe place to discuss what we are going through, help to develop new coping skills and to have someone help us process our thoughts and to guide us to making healthy decisions to bring our life back into balance. I will provide straightforward/non-judgmental guidance through whatever problem you want to work though.

Feelings repeat themselves. If we do not know what we are feeling, how then, do we learn to address them in ways that are healthy and helpful in our life relationships? Recognizing those feelings and discovering healthy and effective approaches to address them is possible. My work began with girls 12-17; then adults struggling with life issues such as trauma, substance abuse, and lifetime illnesses. I have assisted Latinos and their families navigate and understand the effects emotional health has on one's life. I am bi-lingual and bi-cultural, fluent in Spanish.

Life is too long to remain unhappy and too short to have continued regrets. During a session, my intention is to assist the client in utilizing their strengths to help them solve their struggles. I offer as much insight as needed while helping the client resolve their concerns and develop healthy coping strategies. I typically start out asking questions that help me get to know you and learn what your concerns are and future sessions consist of coping strategies, acknowledging trauma, learning how to process what has happened, and how to accept future possibilities.

I work with kids/teens in-person and adults in-person or online.
I believe that everyone can achieve goals that improve lives and empower individuals to live the best version of themselves. With kids and teens, I lean heavily on play therapy interventions, CBT, experiential activities, as well as other trauma-focused therapy techniques and interventions, in order to give clients the space and time they need to process hard things. With adults, I use a variety of interventions that match well with client needs. I gladly serve the needs of adolescents, teens, BIPOC, and LBGTQ+ individuals. I also serve adults and older children with ASD, Level 1, as well as assist with Men's Issues. See you soon!

Everyone has a story they want to tell, more than likely about how their life can be better than it is. In those stories are the goals they aspire for (better relationships, more self-esteem and achieving personal goals). If you want to help someone reach their goals you must first listen to their story. Only then can you walk with them towards a better tomorrow than they have today.

People come to therapy for many different reasons -- anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma, and more. I believe that no problem is too small or too big to work with in the counseling relationship. Therapy allows us to bring our biggest fears and insecurities to light in a safe place and learn how to accept and deal with them, utilizing strengths we already have and learning new techniques to help alleviate suffering.

Hi and thanks for stopping by. We are a group, outpatient mental health practice that specializes in children and adolescents. We have a heart for kids, whether they are struggling with hyperactivity, poor social skills, depression, anxiety, or have experienced trauma. We also work with caregivers and children to increase positive attachments and decrease negative attention seeking behaviors like angry outbursts, whining, defiance, and tantrums. Kids don't come with a handbook- and when your child is struggling, it can feel overwhelming. Most caregivers just want their child to be happy. Sometimes it is hard to know where to start.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
