Using different trauma informed modalities, based off your goals, I will help you challenge stuck feelings, learn the different emotions, find where you’re holding tension in the body and work on releasing it, find new ways to focus, work through trauma.
Hi, I'm Jessica, and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I recognize that these last few years have been a dramatic change for all of us. It's hard relearning how to socialize, how to emotionally regulate, how to self-care, and essentially how to be a human again. From the moment you walk into my door, whether in person or virtually, not only is it my goal for you to feel comfortable, I want you to feel validated in your experiences.

I work with clients who have/have had trauma related experiences in their life.
Imagine ordering a new recliner from a store. You are so excited when it arrives to your home. What they don't tell you is that they the people who delivered it will just drop it off and leave. What they also don't tell you is that on the side of the box it has a picture with two stick figures carrying the box together. You try to lift it and you simply can't. That's the same idea when we deal with our problems we go through in life. We try to "lift" them on our own, when simply can't. This is where I come in.

I am excited to work with motivated, older adolescents and adults, who want to transcend chronic anxiety, trauma and depression.
No matter what has brought you to therapy, your experience is valid. After 27 yrs, I believe that even the most unlikeable, confusing, extreme parts of you have a wisdom to be understood, a protectiveness to be thanked, and a vulnerability to be seen and heard. In my practice, I will seek to meet you exactly where you are, and together we can tend to the unique challenges in your life. My ultimate goal is for clients to uncover their essential self—to rediscover their own innate wisdom and strength that can face whatever life brings. We will work together to create a life where you feel more aware and in charge of your journey.

Trauma can be processed and healing can begin.
Are you stuck in life and struggling to find a way to move forward? Are you looking for someone to listen and aid you in thinking through your life and helping you find answers to questions like, "Who am I?, What am I doing?, Why am I doing this?, Can this get better?" If the answer is "Yes", then you have come to the right place.

I also find it helpful in treating trauma related to being or living with an addict.
My practice focuses primarily on individuals and couples who are dealing with traumas, addictions and communication issues. I give my patients the support to sort through the racket in their heads and find clarity. Many times emotional issues stem from events in our lives which have been either buried or minimized. I help my patients explore these events in order to identify the old beliefs and ideas that created disfunctional coping mechanisms. Once identified, these old ideas and beliefs can be replaced with new healthier ones.

I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. This approach is used to treat trauma both large and small. This is additionally effective when treating grief, depression and anxiety. I will be happy to educate you on this approach should I see a need for this to be a part of your treatment plan.
