I'm a Masters level psychologist who specializes in working with the perinatal and early childhood population (birth-5), attachment and bonding difficulties, early childhood trauma, and I also see children and adolescents.
I wish I had a magic wand and could make all the pain, hurt, trauma & stress, behavior problems, worries, hard days & long nights disappear.  I don't believe my job is to have all the answers for you.  I see my role as being a helper and listener to support you in finding your answers & teaching new skills to help make the process a little easier. We all have hectic lives so the strategies, interventions, & resources we discuss need to be useful & also manageable for you to use in your every day life.  I want you to know that you are not alone & things do and will get better.

I work with women navigating concerns related to trauma, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, & parenting.
You’re the go-to person: the one others rely on to keep things moving, to show up, to stay strong. You’re high-achieving, responsible, and good at pushing through. Maybe you’ve even done therapy before and learned a few helpful tools. But deep down, you still feel stuck. The anxiety, the people-pleasing, the constant pressure to do more hasn’t really let up. Maybe motherhood, trauma, or loss has stirred something in you that’s harder to ignore. You know how to function. You know how to care for everyone else. But you’re craving something deeper. Something that helps you feel whole, seen, and settled in your own skin.

I am a psychotherapist that treats individuals (adults and children) struggling with various challenges including anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, trauma, PTSD and Perinatal Mood Disorders.
Hi, I’m Erin. I help people navigate change with psychotherapy and modalities including CBT, mindfulness, and EMDR. Together we work through intense feelings and events that cause immense pain or stress. This could look like loss, relationships, family changes, becoming a parent, careers, chaos and transitions, or inability to identify any one thing. You might describe yourself as feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, and just “stuck,” not able to live life with purpose and happiness. Maybe you have tried everything to make changes and nothing seems to be working.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
