While I frequently conduct traditional talk therapy, I also incorporate non-traditional methods such as therapy sessions during tennis/golf, walks in parks, and on-site exposure therapy for anxiety and panic disorders.
My approach to psychotherapy is uniquely tailored to the needs of each individual, couple, or family system. My specialties include couples and sex therapy, working with individuals in STEM fields, trauma-focused therapy, and anxiety/panic disorders. I love working with couple systems that are eager to improve their relationship, reignite intimacy, and create a long-lasting connection that transcends surface-level communication and taps into deep emotional attunement and mutual growth. I have extensive experience doing sex therapy, overcoming infidelity, communication issues, and relational tune-ups.

If your child or teenager is struggling with anxiety, you know that it can take things: new opportunities, school performance, relationships... everything is up for grabs. Often, these changes represent not just a loss for the child but a loss for everyone in your child's life who misses out on who they are at their best. Fortunately, anxiety does not have to be the end of the story.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and my work focuses on treating anxiety, OCD, and male issues including life transitions & relationship stress. I’ve worked everywhere from downtown Louisville to the hollers of eastern Kentucky, and I’ve learned that real growth doesn’t depend on where you start—it depends on your willingness to try. If you’re ready to put in that effort and become the best version of yourself, you’re exactly the kind of person I want to work with.

During the recent time of shelter in place, we found a need to be connected to others more than ever. For most people, the pandemic increased anxiety, loneliness and stressed our personal and family resources. Many experienced echoes of past trauma that interfered with their present relationships. When anxiety and anger begins to surface, often, the depth of the pain, anger or frustration doesn't make sense. Sometimes it is sadness from grief or a loss from the past or fear of imminent loss. Having grown up in a military family, I understand a lot about adjusting to change and starting over.

Spiritual direction is an access point to explore your soul as a vital aspect of your overall physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Reflecting on what is meaningful to you in the midst of the mess, mundane & sacredness of life can be transformative. Some people begin spiritual direction wanting to explore new spiritual practices or to engage creativity as an essential aspect of wholeness and connection with their higher power. Other times someone may be seeking healing from ways of relating to God/Divine that no longer serve them; making way for new ways of connecting in relationships with self, others and the world.

Attend in-person or via video conference.
You've handled fears until now. You pushed through the stress, kept your head above water, survived. You've shrugged off healthy habits, too restless to take advice like 'exercise, take breaks and have some fun.' You think, "I'll be better when (blank) happens." But will it? So you bury thoughts and feelings, keep moving, and distract yourself from overwork, over-worrying and over-responsibility. Maybe you don't need more advice. Rather, you need hope that you can calm anxious thoughts, decrease anger and be more present and caring at home or at work. Maybe you just need to be convinced that habits and thoughts CAN change.

Therapy is a safe place where individuals can be open and talk about their life and situations that may be difficult or uncomfortable to discuss. I take pride in meeting the client where they are in their journey of life. A main goal of mine is making the client feel comfortable and secure and to help them understand their situation. Most of my experience is working with pre-teens, teenagers, and adults helping them navigate through life circumstances and assisting them with setting goals for sustainable change that they want to make.
