I am trained in trauma-informed therapy, EFT- tapping, ACT, CBT, Polyvagal and somatic therapy.
Life can feel overwhelming, overstimulating, and hopeless sometimes. For many of us, this becomes our "normal" after experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or any other impactful life stressor or transition. During these times, our bodies, minds, and spirits can feel disconnected, leaving us lost and unsure of our true selves. I understand what you're going through. Having personally experienced the very struggles I mentioned and having worked through them, I can extend a hand of hope for healing and restoration.

I work with couples using the Gottman Method and EFT.
We all strive for healthy and satisfying relationships, but sometimes we don’t have all the tools we need to get there on our own. As human beings we all crave connection, belonging, and to be seen and known by others. That is where therapy comes in, to help provide some new tools and empower you in day-to-day life. I believe in walking alongside you as you seek to make changes in your life and relationships. Change is often small and incremental, but you will be surprised to see how change can add up over time. My therapeutic approach is compassionate, open, collaborative, and trauma-informed.

I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
How did your relationship get to be so complicated, so overwhelming? Maybe a loved one is acting in a way that you don't understand and you feel isolated and troubled. Perhaps you are making a life change or there is change that you did not choose. You've come to a realization that you're just not sure what to do next to get on a better path, to feel safe and connected. It feels like being in a fog with no dependable way through. You're not alone in feeling this way. In our fast-paced world it is easy to get caught up in 'doing' and lose track of 'being'. Sometimes its hard to determine a clear direction and so you stay unhappy.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic insights, and person-centered approaches, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs.
The truth is that we are all trying to do our best, but life can be challenging, and navigating it all can feel overwhelming. If what you’re doing now isn’t working, let’s work on it together. Therapy is no longer the prescriptive environment where you lay on a stranger’s couch. Show up as you are, with a mug of coffee, a meme that spoke to you, or pictures of your pets. We’ll figure it out and use it all to create meaningful change.

I most often use a combination of Attachment, Emotionally Focused ( EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Do you feel stuck on autopilot, consistently anxious, overwhelmed, and longing for a quiet mind? You may have built an outwardly successful life, but feel disconnected from your inner life. You might be burned out, struggling in relationships, at work, or relying too heavily on substances to manage the day. Somewhere inside, a small voice whispers - "there's got to be a better way." I agree. Together through therapy, I can help you identify what matters most to you, break negative habits of thinking and being, and create a life you’re excited to live, more fully as yourself.

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy ( EFT) by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
It can be incredibly painful to feel alone, even when your partner is right beside you. Marriage and relationships are among life’s greatest joys, but when things aren’t going well, the distance between you can feel insurmountable. Arguments, disconnection, and repetitive cycles can make it difficult to share yourself with the person you love. Through couples counseling, you and your partner can work together to build understanding and compassion for each other's experiences. It’s about moving beyond being two ships passing in the night, and instead, finding a way to truly connect. As you develop understanding,

Drawing strength from the conviction that every individual possesses the power for self-discovery and resilience, I employ therapeutic models deeply rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Existential Therapy.
Clients who seek my guidance often yearn for liberation from the burdens of anxiety, stress, depression, or interpersonal strife. Their aspiration extends beyond symptom relief; they desire insight into the underlying causes. Many discover that their surface behaviors merely scratch the surface of their issues and are on a quest for genuine transformation and healing.

Emotionally Focused Therapists

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
