Welcome - it's a brave step you are taking to seek help. Community care is the key to a healthy world, and you don't have to go it alone. My clients often come to me during a period of transition. They are going through some sort of life change that feels ungrounding. This can relate to external changes, like relationships, loss or work stress, but it can also be an internal change, such as deciding to start a recovery path, or choosing to heal trauma.

Life is a series of transitions - some peaks and some valleys. I find these valleys often are a result of internal conflict and external events or pressure. I believe that we all have an authentic self and much of the internal conflict comes from living inauthentically, which develops into maladaptive behaviors. There’s “the way it seems” and “the way it is,” and sometimes we all need someone to remind us of “the way it is.” That’s where I come in - my goals are to work TOGETHER with you to navigate a new path toward living your most authentic life and finding inner peace and confidence to be that person.

As a neurodivergent, queer, non-binary therapist, I understand the importance of a therapist who understands an intersectional experience of life. This is particularly true during this time of civil unrest and increasing persecution. My practice is dedicated to providing a safe space, particularly for marginalized communities. I also provide a safe space to explore kink, sexuality, and ethical non-monogamy.

Life is a journey filled with diverse paths and winding roads, each presenting its own choices and challenges. While some problems arise from our choices, others are beyond our control. There are multiple factors that contribute to how we react to the challenges we face and the paths we find ourselves on. These factors include biological influences, environmental circumstances, generational patterns, and trauma. We will explore multiple dimensions of one’s life, including physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, occupational, environmental, and social, which contribute to overall well-being and happiness.

It's nice to meet you. My name is Stacey Zimmerman and I'm a licensed clinical social worker in KY, UT, and ME (soon to be AZ, CT, FL). My practice style is simple yet effective. I take pride in my values and morals to remain grounded in the golden rule: To treat others how you would like to be treated. I listen to listen; not listen to speak. Time and attention are always given. Humility is my centerpiece. Goal setting must be a bidirectional process which means communication is had between the client and myself. I like to say I am merely the bus driver in session which only maximizes the client's autonomy.

As a clinician, my primary focus is on creating and fostering an environment in which my clients can feel safe enough to process through the core issues that resulted in seeking out help. If you have a child aged 5-12 that is struggling with emotional or behavioral issues, I would love to help. Children do not always have the cognitive skills that adults use to express themselves, which is why I love using play therapy with the little ones to help them better process through their emotions without having to utilize their words. Since graduating from Troy University 3 years ago,
