I'm always amazed by the transforming power that a safe
relationship
can have on a client. Providing a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental atmosphere enables a person to begin processing their story and face the hidden obstacles that keep them stuck in life. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients, offering a new perspective as we explore their strengths, and find hope and new meaning in their story. As a therapist, my mission is to provide the healing space and collaborative
relationship
that helps a person begin to take the necessary steps to achieve their therapy goals.

Welcome! Feeling worn out, stuck, purpose-less, like no one truly sees or “gets” you? It is my belief that a validating, genuine, and accepting therapeutic
relationship
is what allows us to safely explore, gain insight, and begin to heal and make the changes we desire. It is such an honor to get to know my clients over time! I work with my clients to help them determine their goals and the direction they want to take in their lives. I then tailor my approach in order to effectively support and guide them in that direction. I am LGBTQ+ friendly/affirming/accepting.

Trauma, anxiety,
relationship
issues, and/or depression, is preventing you from living your life. Even on good days, your negative self-talk beats you you up. Everyone can be hard on themselves. It’s exhausting trying to anticipate when these feelings will strike next. You can’t trust your own thoughts. It could be that your painful past or current stress isn’t going away on its own. And most days it takes more than that. Stuck in a vicious cycle with no end in sight, you know you can’t handle this alone anymore. Maybe since it happened, something very upsetting occurred, and it changed you. . But what choice do you have?

My hope is that we can build an authentic
relationship
in which you feel seen and heard, and in which you can be equipped to live out of openness, confidence, and clarity.
Life is incredibly difficult at times, and perhaps you have found yourself in a season of shame, defeat, unrest, rage, anxiety, or all of the above and then some. There is a reason that these states of being become a normal mode of operation, but it doesn't mean that healing, growth, and change are not possible.

Life-changing healing is possible. Rebecca has experienced it firsthand in her own life and the lives of her clients. Suffering is a universal experience, but we do not have to remain captives of our past or fear our future. Clients who work with Rebecca see change, often experiencing decreased symptoms after the first session. She provides clients space to share feelings and gives them tools so that "how you feel" doesn't control their life.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
