Welcome to my practice. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you navigate your way to a more peaceful, meaningful and purpose driven life. Facing the pain of current and/or past hurts and challenges can feel overwhelming. I, too, have personally walked this road and know that healing and peace are possible. Being in toxic relationships and stuck in old patterns can take an immeasurable toll on a person’s mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being, oftentimes leaving a person feeling stuck and ruminating - not knowing who they are in their own skin.

I work with fathers navigating the exciting and equally demanding roles of caregiver and partner in the parental relationship.
I focus on a systemic, collaborative client-centered approach to therapy and love working with both individuals and couples. Working with clients faced with diverse challenges has contributed to my drive towards reducing stigma, providing a safe space for vulnerability, and acknowledging that healing takes time.

How will I ever get over this? What seems to be the matter with me? What’s wrong with me? Sometimes we find ourselves asking these questions in the lonely, but loud parts of our mind. Life can be painful, especially when we feel alone, less than, and can’t identify our motivations, pursuits, and dreams. I would like to encourage you along your path of finding connection with others and yourself through meaningful explorations of what it is you desire. Through this we might be able to provide some understanding, relief, and upward striving towards your life goals.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or disconnected—from yourself or in your relationships—you’re not alone. Maybe you find yourself overreacting and then regretting it, shutting down when things feel too intense, or repeating the same conflicts over and over. You might struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, or feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough” at the same time. For many individuals, these patterns are rooted in early relationships—especially the relationship with their mother or primary caregiver.

It's your friendly neighborhood mental health therapist (with a side of sarcasm and a dash of humor). Think of me as the person who shows up in jeans instead of the usual stuffy attire—because who says we can’t talk about your deepest thoughts while wearing a favorite “this is how I feel today” outfit? I’m here to genuinely listen and understand you, even if you feel like you’re living in a world of colorful (or dark) thoughts while others are stuck inside the proverbial box. I’m all about creating a space where you can express your stuff YOUR way.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
