I use a combination of interventions and techniques such as ACT, mindfulness, EMDR, and DBT to find what works best for you and your needs.
Hello! I approach this work from person-centered, trauma-informed, mind-body/neuroscience perspective honoring your lived experience and the knowledge you have acquired along your life to help create a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I primarily work with individuals & couples who are experiencing distress in their life, with a focus around trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. I believe that therapy is a place for discussion and conversation around any topic that is impacting you, whether that be in ways that are beneficial to your lifestyle or disruptive.

I additionally integrate concepts and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).
I most enjoy working with adults on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, disordered eating and body image, and perfectionist tendencies. My ideal client is someone who is ready to get to work and motivated to change. They also might describe themselves as a people pleaser or a person who cares for others before caring for themselves.

For women feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or burned out; you’re not alone. You're the one everyone relies on—but lately, it’s starting to feel like too much. On the outside, you look like you’re holding it together. Internally, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or not like yourself anymore. You may be overthinking everything, carrying more than anyone realizes, or feeling stuck in patterns that leave you drained. Maybe you’re navigating relationship changes, motherhood, or trying to figure out who you are in this stage of life. I work with women who are tired of feeling this way and ready for something to shift.

Hi there, I'm Anna! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been in practice for 9 years. I became interested in this profession because of my own battles with mental health. There have been times that I've been debilitated to the point where I was unable to function, and lived through paralyzing fear, trauma, crippling depression, and the belief that I would never be able to live a fulfilling life. Thanks to the therapy I received to overcome these obstacles, I got my Bachelor's & Master's Degrees at Marshall University.

Many of my clients have spent years holding everything together for everyone else while silently struggling themselves. Together, we identify what's keeping you stuck, build practical tools for coping, strengthen boundaries, and create meaningful change so you can move from simply surviving to living a more steady, connected, and fulfilling life

I will bring in suggestions of coping techniques from CBT, DBT and ACT as I feel they may be helpful but will work alongside you to find what really works.
I provide person-centered therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences. My overall approach to counseling is conversational and flowing. I have advanced training in CBT, DBT, and perinatal mental health that I keep in mind as we work through identifying your goals and establishing skills. I often work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, bipolar disorder, and more. I aim to create a safe, inclusive space, especially for women and LGBTQ+ clients, drawing from feminist theory and a deep understanding of how societal pressures and identity impact emotional well-being, growth, and healing.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
