Marriage counseling. I Help Couples Restore Selfless Loving in Marriage! Sometimes there simply is so much pain. But when those first love feelings can be remembered and desired, and when some selflessness begins to return, it can become a gift that keeps on giving. For marrieds coming to me, in my most-used approach the focus is not on complaining about problems, but on learning new ways to listen and think: I coach, you two talk together. Often this brings hope! If your situation is not in my areas of expertise, I will offer referrals, like any good counselor should do. Perhaps your situation can improve! Give me a call!

This space is for the question-askers, seekers, wounded, or weary. This is the right space for you if your family, relationships, or faith experiences have been stressful, confusing, or harmful to you. This includes experiences with trauma, narcissism, dysfunctional relationships and families, and religious teachings. My practice focuses on those who have tried to "do all the right things," wondering why things are still so hard. Unfortunately, being hard on ourselves, working hard, achieving all the things, and taking care of everyone around us doesn't often lead to the sort of healing and peace we long for.

I help clients experience lasting change by focusing on the root causes of their struggles, not just surface- level behaviors. Many people come to therapy having already tried coping strategies, advice, or increased self-discipline, yet still feel stuck. Often this is because unresolved trauma, attachment wounds, or deeply held beliefs continue to drive emotional distress and relational patterns beneath the surface. My approach centers on understanding what a client has been through and how those experiences continue to shape their thoughts, emotions, nervous system, and relationships today.

I believe that we have to be able to live and deal with stress and issues in the present to achieve success, joy and peace that we seek. Life situations and/or Mental Illness can keep these from happening. Having that neutral person to be a support person can be what's needed . My specialty focus lies in dealing with Depression, ADHD, Marriage Therapy, Anxiety, Infant loss, and Trauma. I have experience with kids, adolescents and adults. Approaches used are (CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gottman Method and Play Therapy) effective with children, adolescents and adults.

You work so hard and give so much. And you have a lot to show for it. On the outside, everything looks great. But inside, you’re lonely and unhappy. Despite your success, you struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and depression because you don’t feel worthy of the time, effort, and talent you give everyone else. People would never know that you actually have very low self-esteem. That’s why you’re always saying “yes,” always giving, and putting everyone else’s needs and desires before your own. You know this course isn’t sustainable. It’s left you exhausted and emotionally disconnected from the people closest to you.

What you need is where we start. Helping others has always come second nature for me and finding a profession that allowed me to use that skill and taught how to be even better at it has been the best! I love being for others what I know my loved ones and I needed at one point or another in our lives. Mental health is such a huge part of being successful, being happy, and making our dreams a reality and I thoroughly enjoy helping people through that journey. You are not alone.

Clients often come in with many-layered, complex reasons, and they often need someone to listen and support them. Clients may also need to seek comfort and awareness of their situations and help navigate the way forward. Sorting through emotional distress can be overwhelming, especially if you have no support system. Clients ultimately need to be seen, heard, and understood, and that they matter in all aspects.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
