I treat mostly complex trauma using CBT, DBT, narratives and EMDR.
Most of the patients I currently see have complex trauma, unresolved childhood or early life events. I also have lots of experience working with people through depression, anxiety or other general life stressors. Healing is difficult and starting therapy can be hard. Taking that first step is a step in the right direction.

You just want the pain, chaos, and emptiness you feel to go away once and for all. Whether it is eating secretly to comfort yourself, having to drink every night to sleep, pushing yourself to achieve, or isolating yourself. Attempting to balance family, work, and your self-care can feel overwhelming and tends to end with you feeling worse about yourself and how you can't get it together. Shame and guilt keep you stationary where you are, and if you had to admit that things were not where you wanted you might actually crumble. Let's figure out a new normal, together.

If you're here, you may be carrying something heavy — shame you've never said aloud, behaviors that feel out of control, or the pain of an unexpected betrayal. You don't have to face it alone. I specialize in trauma recovery and the treatment of sex and porn addiction. Whether you're struggling with compulsive behaviors or reeling as a partner from broken trust, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore this with honesty and care. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, attending to how past experiences, mental health, and behaviors connect — and to what the body holds, using EMDR to help release what you carry.

Hello & welcome! If you're here, something in your life needs more than managing — it needs rebuilding. Maybe you're recovering from trauma, finding your footing after addiction recovery, understanding a diagnosis that finally explains a lot, or carrying the weight of a life spent serving others. If this sounds like you, I've got you!

We know so much for certain about the human anatomy, but when it comes to our mental health even the line between the brain and the mind is blurred. Behavioral Health interests me because nothing is ever certain. Even when it comes to the treatment of individual illnesses, there is no set way of treating a patient, and often it is only a mix of many approaches that can solve an issue entirely...

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
