I believe meaningful change happens within safe, supportive relationships. Being truly heard and understood can profoundly impact a person’s sense of identity, resilience, and hope. Counseling is more than a career path for me—it is a commitment to walking alongside individuals during vulnerable and transformative moments in their lives.
I am especially drawn to working with children, adolescents, and families. I understand that behavior is often a form of communication, particularly for young people who may lack the language to express complex emotions.

I also have lots of experience working with people through depression, anxiety or other general life stressors.
I am not a talk therapist. In my clinical opinion, doing only talk therapy is like putting a bandaid on an open wound. Nothing is going to heal. We have to culture the wound, see what is causing it and heal it from the inside. I treat mostly complex trauma using CBT, DBT, narratives and EMDR.

Do you find yourself overwhelmed at times by your own mind? Do you feel stuck, wanting to advance and grow but unable to move forward? Have you tried "common-sense" solutions or short-term therapy to little or no help?
You might be looking for someone not to tell you what to do but rather to explore with you the complexity of your own mind, to sit with you in painful, unsettling, and dreadful feelings, and to intentionally work through these experiences with you in order to have more freedom in work and play.

Are you recently divorced or considering divorce? Have you just started a relationship, or did you just get married? Is the relationship you’re in becoming more challenging than satisfying? I am seasoned in helping clients navigate the challenges and difficulties that can present themselves in these relationship transitions. I am convinced that most people (at least 51%) seek companionship in romantic, intimate relationships. This companionship can bring about partnership, teamwork, and love. When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
