Deep down in every individual there is a need to find their sense of purpose. Everyone wants to attain self-actualization or to become who they believe they were meant to become. We believe in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which states individuals must first attain their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs before reaching self-actualization, which brings a feeling of fulfillment, joy and peace. We can help with alleviating debilitating symptoms or feelings of being overwhelmed due to a recent loss or crisis that interferes with you being happy in life. Please give us a call to schedule an assessment.
We all have problems, and sometimes we just need a third party perspective to help develop the insight and skills needed to overcome. Using a collaborative approach, my goal is to work with children, teenagers, adults, couples and families to achieve solutions to overcome the barriers of living life successfully and relating meaningfully with others.
We all have an internal pressure cooker that holds strong feelings and repressed emotions. This is especially true with today’s adolescents and teenagers. When anxiety, fear, depression, and outside stressors fill their barometer up, they reach a boiling point of eruption that plays out in extreme anger, defiance, substance abuse, addictions to social media and screens, overeating, and other destructive behaviors.
Life is too long to remain unhappy and too short to have continued regrets. During a session, my intention is to assist the client in utilizing their strengths to help them solve their struggles. I offer as much insight as needed while helping the client resolve their concerns and develop healthy coping strategies. I typically start out asking questions that help me get to know you and learn what your concerns are and future sessions consist of coping strategies, acknowledging trauma, learning how to process what has happened, and how to accept future possibilities.
If you would like help relieving emotional pain, increasing confidence, improving coping skills, making an important decision, addressing oppression, or adjusting to life changes, I hope you will consider working with me. I provide a safe and collaborative environment that promotes positive changes in your life. I believe what makes therapy work is a relationship that is open, honest, warm, and validating. This strong foundation allows for challenge that is supportive and productive. Thank you for considering me as your therapist.

Do you feel abandoned, lost, anxious, or afraid? Have you been hurt by those who you cared for most? Do you have feelings of emotional disconnection from your spouse or significant other? Regardless of what you have been through, you have the potential for greatness! Your relationships deserve to blossom! I desire to walk by your side as you let go of the emotional baggage that has been keeping you from reaching your potential and living your best life. Remember, life is not just about surviving but progressing and always being the best person we can be.
It's tough to be a kid or teen right now and it's tough to parent a kid or teen. The more motivated a young person and their family are to improve, the more successful we are in therapy. It will go best when everyone is (1) honest enough to really get to know themselves, (2) empathetic enough to care about the effects their choices and actions have on others, and (3) brave enough to do things differently so they can feel better, have healthier relationships, and enjoy more successes.
I offer a practical, nonjudgmental approach to those wishing to address difficulties or distress in their lives. My objective is to assist clients in meeting their goals through a process of consideration, collaboration, and resource-building.
How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you. I have learned that the most important relationship a person will ever have is the relationship they have with themselves. It's important to learn how to trust yourself, love yourself, treat yourself, challenge yourself, and see yourself through someone else's eyes. It is my goal to guide others as they embark on their own journey of self.

During this Covid Safe at Home time, all sessions are conducted via telehealth. Sessions range from 30 minutes (younger clients) to 60 minutes. Insurance companies continue to cover tele-health during this time, so there should not be an additional charge outside of your typical co-pay. For children under 8, I work with parents and caregivers using Child Parent Relationship Therapy. This allows me to work individually with parents to teach skills so that you may work with your child at home. These skills are lifelong skills, which most find to be extremely helpful!
