I work deeply and thoughtfully with people experiencing a variety of life’s challenges including anxiety, depression, gender identity, and relationship concerns. One of my goals as a therapist is to create an environment that makes it easier to talk about difficult experiences. I cultivate a therapeutic relationship by using a gentle but direct approach and view treatment as a collaborative effort. I enjoy working with patients ages 6+. I have a passion for helping people access the skills and resources needed to perform to the best of their ability. I believe that honesty, empathy, and communication are vital to the therapeutic relationship, and pride myself on being able to create an environment that is non-judgmental and validating.

I have considerable experience working with children and families who are involved with the Child In Need of Care system and the Juvenile Justice Administration system within Kansas. I have worked with families experiencing difficulties with Parenting issues, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance and Anger issues. I work closely with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing issues related to stress management, relationship enhancement, communication, conflict resolution, relaxation, time management and assist with techniques for self-care. I work extensively with individuals having difficulties with depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and loss, divorce, adjustment disorders and unresolved childhood trauma.

The journey toward and through parenthood does not always go as planned. Some people struggle with infertility and face heartbreaking disappointment each month that goes by with yet another negative pregnancy test. Others experience pregnancy or infant loss and grapple with unbearable grief. For others, a new baby brings with it a sense of overwhelming anxiety or depression. Or, perhaps the struggle you are facing is more vast and relates to the heavy load many women find themselves carrying — managing the never-ending to-do list while trying to be the best mom/partner/friend/worker/household manager/etc. that they can possibly be.

I have been honored to work with children, adolescents, and adults in the Wichita community since 2009. I believe in providing a supportive environment to empower my clients to find their best solutions. I work with individuals, families, and groups, and have had previous experiences working with families affected by the foster care and juvenile justice systems. As a veteran myself, I have special interest in working with others who have served this country.

I am Intensely trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through B-Tech.

Living with symptoms of stress, anxiety, or OCD can feel challenging and overwhelming. You may notice yourself reviewing past situations or worrying about the future. Perhaps you deal with fears about situations or events that prevent you from experiencing life to the fullest. You might engage in compulsive behaviors in an effort to alleviate stress related to intrusive thoughts.
