I also work with Mood disorders, Anxiety disorders, OCD, and Adjustment disorders. I use a variety of treatment modalities with a psychodynamic approach including EMDR, ACT, CF-CBT; most importantly is the relationship and trust felt between the client and myself. I believe in the resiliency of the mind, body, spirit, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to walk beside those while they find their way to peace and happiness.

"It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness." This famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote can be applied to many situations. When we get stuck -- in a rut at work, in a stormy relationship, in a lukewarm marriage, with our children -- we suffer but are often pulled to focus on the problem rather than finding a solution. Sometimes, we're not aware of what the actual issue is. All we can do is try to avoid the pain, skirt problems, even pretend we are fine. We are blocked by fear -- another word for anxiety. Together, we can walk slowly through that fear, and find that light.

I believe a positive relationship with your therapist is one of the most important factors in the success of treatment. I ask you to bring an open mind and commitment to your journey to each session. Respecting where the individual is in their own process as well as respect for the individual who walks through the door, is of up most importance to me. Giving yourself permission to trust the process of therapy is a first step toward receiving positive benefits from therapy. It is an honor to for me to accompany you on your journey.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you! I am client-centered and strongly believe in the therapeutic relationship being a safe and affirming space. I believe the client knows themselves the best, yet sometimes we get stuck in patterns that are unhelpful for us, and sometimes we need support in getting un-stuck to move forward in life. I listen from a non-judgmental place so you will feel heard, understood, and know that you have meaningful support. I want my clients to feel that they can be their authentic selves and for them to flourish in all the ways imaginable.

Hi, I’m Alyssa, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Kansas. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel supported and empowered as you navigate life's challenges, deepen your self-understanding, and work toward meaningful change. I provide psychotherapy for teens and adults, creating a collaborative and compassionate environment where you can explore your experiences and move toward the life you want to live. Much of my experience has been in crisis intervention, supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, and non-suicidal self-injury.

Hi! I am so glad you are here! Looking for a therapist is an overwhelming task, and especially finding one that you trust and feel safe with. So allow me to give you a glimpse of what working together may look like. In our sessions, you’ll find a space where you can show up exactly as you are—openly sharing your story and feeling genuinely seen and heard. There’s room here for laughter, tears, swearing, and everything in between. My goal is to create an environment that feels warm, authentic, and transparent as we work through life’s challenges together.
