I work with people struggling with balance, feeling a sense of meaning and fulfillment. Whatever their particular struggle, from interpersonal issues, trauma, changes in life, struggle with identity, emotive control and expression, and self-sabotage-to more extreme expressions of those issues resulting in self harm or suicidal thoughts, my goal is to help every person that I come in contact with build a life worth living. This is accomplished through targeted interventions tailored to that person, their concerns, personality and strengths.

Therapy is about listening to a voice deep within yourself. A voice that you might not have heard for … who knows how long? A voice that has been muffled because of all of those things in the world, and the sadness or anxiety that you’re feeling inside. Other people don’t always know how much you’re carrying on your shoulders, and what you've been through. It takes a lot to just get through each day. So you’ve lost touch with that voice inside, and with the person it belongs to.

We often see the “beautiful” side of womanhood, but the truth is—it’s overwhelming, lonely, and exhausting at times. Whether you're navigating motherhood, strained relationships, career stress, life transitions, or the impact of past traumas, the emotional weight can be heavy. I’ve been there too—putting myself last until it all caught up with me. If you’re burned out, unbalanced, or unsure where to turn, I’m here to guide you home to yourself again.

You’re the one who keeps it together- at school, work, or in front of friends- but inside, it’s loud, overwhelming, and exhausting. You want someone who gets it and who won’t just nod and ask how you feel, but will help you make real changes. You’re craving a space that’s honest, collaborative, and doesn’t sugarcoat. That’s where I come in!

You’ve spent years trying to get it right (your body, your career, your relationships), but something still feels off. Maybe you’re tired of being caught in anxious thought loops, people-pleasing, or struggling with food and body image after years of dieting. In therapy, we can work to make sense of your story, calm your inner critic, and help you reconnect with who you actually are, rather than who you've been told you should be.

It takes bravery to start the journey from struggle and pain toward insight, wisdom, and healing. I am committed to assisting you in making gift to yourself and your community. We hear a lot about post-traumatic stress, but it's also very important to invite post-traumatic growth. If the hard knocks of life stay unaddressed - words unspoken, questions unasked, feelings unnamed and unexpressed - we lose our vitality and become limited to negative patterns. A therapeutic alliance can transform and liberate.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
