You and those you love live in scary and uncertain times. You likely find yourself in a world you barely recognize, having to get by with more needs on fewer resources. We have all began to see the results of living under constant fight-or-flight stress while an entire world struggles to get by without needed coping skills, adequate financial resources, or knowing where to turn for guidance.

Let’s cut to the chase–it’s stressful to feel like you aren’t where you want to be, and even more so when you don’t know what steps to take to get unstuck. You’ve tried the breathing exercises and the self-care days, but you need more. That is where I come in. I work with adult women, in their 20’s and 30’s, who are feeling like they just floating/surviving through life. Clients come to me when they are feeling disconnected from themselves, from others, or from life itself.

Pain, doubt, and uncertainty can make you feel stuck—you're carrying a weight no one else can see. Maybe you're caught in cycles of worry, self-criticism, or past experiences that won’t let you go. Life feels overwhelming yet you're not sure where to begin. Therapy isn't about "fixing" you—it's about creating a space where you can explore, heal, and build.

Now accepting new clients. I work with teens 13+ and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck in their own heads, or just plain exhausted from trying to keep it all together. If your mind races with worries, self-doubt creeps in at the worst times, or you feel like no matter what you do, it’s never quite enough...I see you. You might be navigating a big life change such as starting college, changing careers, or simply trying to be the version of yourself you want to be. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Is your life inconsistent or doesn’t always follow a schedule? It can be overwhelming to seek help you want and deserve, but also have to maintain a schedule for the therapist. If you are seeking someone who is dedicated to your well-being, but flexible with scheduling, then you have found me for a reason. I utilize a variety of developed techniques involving neuro-clinical awareness to intensify and internalize the healing process. While I am trauma focused, I strive to support anyone seeking help with changes in their life. Please note how often you want to meet in your contact with me and your flexibility with scheduling.

I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience. In therapy, I work to provide a safe and relaxed setting which allows for a clear review and discussion of past events. In a positive atmosphere where self-esteem is enhanced, a person is more likely to develop a new understanding of their situation and identify effective solutions.

Mike works primarily with men who struggle with anger, emotional shutdown, or relationship conflict—and who are frustrated by therapy that feels passive or disconnected from real change. Many of the men he works with are capable and responsible, yet feel stuck repeating the same patterns in their relationships and inner lives. His approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with psychodynamic depth work to support both practical change and deeper self-understanding. Therapy is active, collaborative, and grounded in personal responsibility, emotional strength, and meaningful forward movement.

I believe that we all reach places in our lives where we are learning, unlearning and possibly relearning the existential areas of: who am I, what do I want, and what are my barriers & blind spots? Some may need support identifying or answering these questions cause they can be overwhelming. We often develop limitations in efforts to cope with grief, stress, control, hurt & relationships. So do you wonder,"What might be getting in my way or holding me back?", or "What I am avoiding?" or "Do I want to be more effective in my relationship?" Therapy can support you when you are answering these incredibly rich questions for yourself.

Motherhood is beautiful; but from pregnancy to parenting, it’s not easy. Maybe you're holding your baby, wondering why you don’t feel “happy” yet. You’re afraid of not being "good enough" and you feel overwhelmed as you try to survive without sleep. Your expectations around labor and birth did not go to plan and you feel a loss that others don’t understand. Maybe you're pregnant now; filled with hormones, fear, and anxiety about the transition ahead. You want to prepare but don’t know where to start. Maybe you’re struggling to get pregnant, questioning and measuring everything, angry and afraid of hearing the word "infertility".

Clients can expect a collaborative process with interventions tailored to your values in taking steps toward becoming the person you desire to be. I am a believer in the human capacity for growth and the importance of contextual, developmental, and cultural factors in psychological functioning. Common themes in sessions include resolving conflicts between what a person (or couple) wants and what is in the way. For teens or adults I also can help with psychological testing or treatment for concerns with academic achievement, motivation, and mood. I am experienced with veterans and disability exams.

Are you lookin' for a therapist who can be both direct and gentle? Someone who can encourage and challenge you? Look no further! My top priority is to empower my clients to empower themselves. I believe everyone is capable of being their own hero, but that, simultaneously, everyone deserves to have access to a safe, unbiased space to talk about hard things. Healing can be messy and uncomfortable at times, which is where my love for a good laugh often comes into play. If you’re someone who copes with humor, I just might be the therapist for you; your sarcasm, dark humor, and foul language are all welcome here!

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
