I work with people struggling with balance, feeling a sense of meaning and fulfillment. Whatever their particular struggle, from interpersonal issues, trauma, changes in life, struggle with identity, emotive control and expression, and self-sabotage-to more extreme expressions of those issues resulting in self harm or suicidal thoughts, my goal is to help every person that I come in contact with build a life worth living. This is accomplished through targeted interventions tailored to that person, their concerns, personality and strengths.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when life feels heavy, confusing, or hard to manage on your own. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, relationship stress, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out.

I have over 5 years of experience helping adults and teens in different stages of crisis, grief and life transition.
Does anger, sadness or anxiety get in the way of your relationships, jobs or general happiness? I work with clients to process these feelings and the pain they can cause. We all carry baggage from our childhoods and pasts, worsened by the hardships we endure as adults and from the inevitable trials of daily life, but they do not define who we are. Anger is a common response to these issues but does not have to interfere with our lives. Having worked for over a decade as a first responder, I know first hand how trauma impacts us, especially in our ability to control impulses, frustration and anger. You do not need to suffer alone.

From the moment I meet someone I’m connecting with them in a vulnerable state yet I see their strength and potential to heal. I understand how hard it can be to push through life while struggling in a silent battle. Consider me your sparring partner. Working collaboratively with my clients strengthens me as a counselor and emboldens me to continue the work. I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds. I admire a client who is; willing to put in the work that therapy requires, someone who is willing to show up and be vulnerable, someone who is open minded and welcome to personal growth.

My areas of focus include, but are not limited to, relationship issues, couples counseling, prenatal, postpartum, and parenting challenges, anxiety, grief, and trauma.
Hello! Relationships often feel overwhelming—whether you’re stuck in the same conflict, adjusting to new parenthood, or holding stress you don’t know how to talk about. I help couples and individuals to slow down, communicate more clearly, and navigate anxiety, life transitions, and the challenges that come with change. Therapy with me won’t feel cold or distant. I create a warm, collaborative space where we can make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface. Together, we will explore patterns, experiences, and unmet needs that may be shaping how you relate to yourself and others, not with judgment, but with curiosity and care.

Or you may experience overwhelming emotions, which can lead to anxiety, PTSD, trauma responses, grief, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, or eating disorder behaviors.
Through my work in various levels of care, I’ve found that lasting emotional relief comes from being able to identify and manage emotions. To help with this, I draw on a variety of approaches—offering practical coping skills while also exploring the deeper challenges that may be fueling emotional distress.

I believe psychotherapy is a mixture of psychoeducation (providing information to help people develop new coping and relationship skills), emotional processing (learning to identify and work through uncomfortable feelings), and corrective emotional experience (using the counseling relationship as a safe place to experiment with new interpersonal skills). I utilize a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (addressing how our thoughts and beliefs impact our emotional experience, self-image, and behavior); Family Systems Therapy (helping people gain insight into characteristic relationship patterns); and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (understanding how ways of coping developed earlier in life may not serve us well in the present).

You may have spent years carrying pain that feels difficult to explain—patterns you can’t seem to break, chronic shame, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, a constant sense of alertness, or emotions that feel overwhelming or out of reach. My work focuses on helping people heal from complex trauma: the kind that often comes from long-term emotional neglect, chronic stress, relational harm, or childhood adversity. I provide a grounded, compassionate space where you don’t have to rush your story, and where every part of you is welcome.

Most people are striving to live a congruent life where their perception of self matches their lived experience. Life can throw us off this path whether it's through an unexpected event, mood disorder or life transition. I have experience working with adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, identity development, life transitions, and stress management. I particularly enjoy providing support to members of marginalized communities who are coping with the additional stressors of society.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
