Hello! Thank you for visiting with me! Fostering “next steps” in all areas of life defines my approach to counseling. My experience with childhood loss, a pervasive family history of depression and anxiety, and a recent diagnosis of ADHD have created opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally. Taking an individual approach to my clients grounds my decisions personally and professionally. I believe relationships and being understood is key to guiding therapeutic relationship.

I work with people struggling with balance, feeling a sense of meaning and fulfillment. Whatever their particular struggle, from interpersonal issues, trauma, changes in life, struggle with identity, emotive control and expression, and self-sabotage-to more extreme expressions of those issues resulting in self harm or suicidal thoughts, my goal is to help every person that I come in contact with build a life worth living. This is accomplished through targeted interventions tailored to that person, their concerns, personality and strengths.

When life shifts, it can be disorienting. You might be navigating the demands of middle or older age, the impact of a medical diagnosis, the quiet fatigue of caregiving, or the layered grief of watching someone change due to illness or dementia. These experiences can raise deep questions about identity, connection, and what matters most. Even familiar roles—partner, parent, professional—can feel different. You may be finding your way through changes you didn’t choose, feeling isolated or overwhelmed, and asking: Who am I now? How do I live well with what is happening? Where do I go from here? What matters most?

I believe therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken or pushing yourself to be “stronger.” It’s about becoming lighter. Truer. More aligned with who you already are—without carrying everything your heart desires. Many I work with are deeply caring and grounded. From the outside, life looks together. On the inside, it can feel heavy, chaotic, and full. When care outpaces capacity, even strong hearts grow weary. That isn’t weakness. It’s human. My work helps you release what was never meant to be carried alone and reconnect with what restores you.

Taking the first step into therapy or finding the right therapist takes real courage. I work with adults, teens, and couples who are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, daily stress, or simply feeling stuck. Maybe life didn't go as planned, or past experiences are making it hard to move forward. Whatever brings you here, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are, honor your strengths, and walk alongside you as you build the life you deserve. You don't have to figure it out alone.

I find that a holistic approach to wellness, in which I believe that every person has within themselves the power and capacity to heal, is the most effective approach to therapy. I focus on working with my clients’ strengths and enhancing their positive attributes to overcome life’s obstacles–regardless of whether those obstacles arise from grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stress, or any of the myriad of challenges that we face in our lives.

Do you feel seen? Do you feel heard? Do you feel you matter? Those are the ingredients that build connection. And connection is vitally important for our happiness. However, so often today that's exactly what we find is missing. And life can hand us things we don't know how to deal with. I'd love to work with you to help you build strategies that build connection between yourself and those you care about. I’m deeply moved by the work people do for repair and healing. Share your story with me. I will listen without judgement and with compassion for your struggle.

Something inside you is waking up and wanting more. You may feel tired of holding everything together while quietly losing connection with yourself. Many of my clients are caregivers, helpers, therapists, or deeply sensitive people who have spent years reading the room, supporting others, and pushing through their own needs. So capable on the outside, yet exhausted within. They often arrive after talk therapy has helped, but are still longing for deeper change. Our work gently reconnects mind and body, helping you understand your patterns, restore nervous system balance, and rediscover a more grounded, authentic way of being.

You may have wondered if healing was ever in your reach. You may find yourself stuck, questioning, doubting, or experiencing things you never have before. Maybe you never thought life can be different or that healing and freedom was here for you, your relationships and family. I am here to create a safe space where healing, freedom, choice, and exploration can be found. A space where who you are and how you are is embraced, affirmed, welcomed and celebrated. The unknown is often the scariest. However, what I have found is that journeying into the unknown lies the greatest freedom.

I believe in the power of collaborating with clients to help them achieve their goals for a fulfilling life. I have helped thousands of individuals and couples figure out their path, including pre-marriage, marriage counseling, separation, divorce and blended families. These are big questions and struggles mixed with complex and difficult questions. I also work with individuals living with depression, anxiety and hopelessness. I won't judge you and you can ask questions in a safe, secure environment with a caring professional. I uniquely understand the legal issues around divorce and how to emotionally navigate that path.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
