I work with clients who are experiencing internal and/or relational distress related to how past trauma is held in the body, life stage changes such as perimenopause, neurodivergence, or all of the above!
Are you struggling to feel like yourself? "Coping" but with lots of effort, distraction, or numbing? Feeling anxious, angry, overwhelmed? Thinking "What's wrong with me?!" As it turns out, you're not crazy or broken: Your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors make sense as responses to your unique life experiences. With me you will learn a new language to talk about what's happening inside, and to see it as a result of what you've been through vs a character flaw. When "broken" is no longer your identity, your symptoms have less power, and space opens up for your authentic, grounded, compassionate, and boundaried self to emerge.

I also am passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma, particularly developmental and relational trauma.
Life can be painful, and it can be hard to know where to turn when we feel like we’ve exhausted all our options. Wherever you are hurting, whether it be in family relationships, romantic relationships, your relationship with yourself, or your relationship with the world around you, I’m here to help you find the wound and learn how to heal it. I am passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families to ensure you get the best care and support possible. I know how difficult it can be to find an affirming, celebratory space for marginalized folx and strive to offer that for my clients.

We then progress into addressing the root of the problem through use of mind-body and trauma-informed therapies, including IFS, EMDR, somatic work and polyvagal theory.
You may look like you have it all together, but inside anxiety keeps you overthinking, overfunctioning, people-pleasing, and bracing for the next thing. You don't have to live life this way. It's time to feel safe in your own mind and body again.

This treatment approach is very effective with all mood disorders, anxieties, trauma's, relationship issues, grief etc..
Everyone has problems. We cannot control the circumstances or people that show up in our lives, but we can decide how we are going to respond to them. Not knowing how you feel, what you think or what you want contributes to confusion, frustration, anxiety and depression. Establishing your own authentic self, as opposed to what others want you to be, can be a difficult task. Developing assertive communication skills and understanding your own emotional boundaries are essential to managing distressing symptoms and situations. I can help you take charge of your life and create the one you want.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
