I work with people struggling with balance, feeling a sense of meaning and fulfillment. Whatever their particular struggle, from interpersonal issues, trauma, changes in life, struggle with identity, emotive control and expression, and self-sabotage-to more extreme expressions of those issues resulting in self harm or suicidal thoughts, my goal is to help every person that I come in contact with build a life worth living. This is accomplished through targeted interventions tailored to that person, their concerns, personality and strengths.

I help teens and adults navigate anxiety, fear of failure, and life’s tough moments with trauma‑informed care, grounding practices, and practical tools for clarity and emotional balance.
Therapy can be a place where you feel seen, heard, supported, and safe to show up exactly as you are. Life brings moments that can shake us, stretch us, or leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves — and none of us are meant to navigate those moments alone. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and a trauma‑informed approach that honors your lived experiences. I work with teens (15+) and adults through end-of-life, offering a space where your story is met without judgment and where your identity, culture, and personal truth are respected. I bring a multicultural lens, empathy and humility to your space.

Many of the teens I work with are struggling with anxiety or feeling exhausted from trying to appear "fine
I truly love working with teens and celebrating what makes each of them unique. Using evidence-based tools from CBT, DBT, and ACT, I tailor our work to fit your personality rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. As a result, we’ll manage school stress, build real coping skills, and help you express yourself with confidence.

We don't choose the hand we're dealt — but we can choose to grow. It's normal to get stuck in survival mode after trauma or hard seasons of life. When you're done managing symptoms and ready to do the work, the way back is through the body — the way back to yourself. I've been practicing since 1997, and I still walk beside people through the hardest places.

Maybe you've lost your confidence, can't shake anxious thoughts, or you're afraid of letting others down.
I specialize in counseling and sport psychology for athletes. In our work together, we can focus on mental skills for sport performance or on the life challenges that come with being an athlete. Often it's a bit of both. Former athletes, I'm here to help you navigate life too. Our athletic identity doesn't end, even when our formal sport career is over.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
