Hello! I'm Kristine McCarthy, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with decades of experience providing counseling services to help individuals and families navigate life's myriad challenges. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, as I believe each of us knows the best route to joy and success. I see therapy as a partnership and an invaluable resource to find this pathway.
My philosophy is grounded in an awareness of both the commonalities of the human condition, as well as all that makes us unique. I believe in accessing any resource that is healthy and helpful and developing a treatment plan accordingly. I find cognitive-behavioral interventions to be especially effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety.
I have a nonjudgmental, compassionate sensibility, and my work as a therapist reflects that. I know it can be hard to meet the challenges of life and believe wholeheartedly that seeking support through these challenges is an act of courage and strength. We are in it together, and I observe and honor our interconnectedness and shared humanity.
