Announcement icon During COVID-19, I'm offering telehealth, video sessions via Doxy, a HIPPA-compliant platform; shorter sessions & other accommodations.
I specialize in working with youth, adults, couples & families with Asperger's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder & Social Communication Disorders. A distinct specialty of mine is sexuality & gender dysphoria in ASD. I also work with teens & adults with social, emotional, relationship & academic struggles. I was trained at Columbia University School of Social Work & New York City's Asperger Center for Education. I received my B.A. from Davidson College. I have run therapeutic wilderness camps, programs & social skills groups in San Francisco & New York City. Recently, I worked as a therapist at the Temple Grandin School for 3 years.
I recognize the immense strengths & capabilities of my clients. My goal is to help you find your sweet spot: by doing hands-on work, harnessing your talents & interests, fostering meaningful social and romantic relationships & by finding you the right resources, opportunities, jobs & structure; we work to bring out your happiest, healthiest functioning self.
I meet with clients in my office, in the restorative setting of nature or out in the community- whichever will maximize the benefits of our work. I understand the varied & complex challenges that individuals with unique minds face. Together, we collaborate to articulate authentically motivated, practical, concrete, hands-on and action-oriented solutions.

Kristine Lorefice Segal's Groups

Social/Therapeutic Groups for Young Adults & Women

I run 3 small therapeutic/recreational groups: 1: Young Adults with Asperger's & identify as LGBTQIA+. 2: Neurodiverse Young Adults with Social Anxiety. 3: Women with Asperger's Syndrome. In these groups, members do group therapy, social skills work, creative activities or go on group-voted local outings/adventures to encourage reciprocal friendships & bonding; while working on social anxiety, struggles & promoting personal goals. These groups are a judgement free space where clients are free to be themselves where they can find like-minded peers who accept them for who they truly are. Groups will resume in early Summer 2020.
