My name is Kristina Thornton. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with adults and older adults. I am knowledgeable and experienced in end-of-life and grief counseling. As well as general counseling for coping with various stressors and challenges at all stages of life. I am also trained in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety and depression.
I typically work with adults who are experiencing difficulty coping with life circumstances that are negatively impacting their health and well-being. I am passionate about working with the older adult population.
I believe in the importance of meeting the client where they are at in their journey in order to better understand their strengths, limitations, and goals. I prioritize maintaining a calm and accepting environment where clients can talk openly and honestly without fear or judgment, I utilize an empathetic approach while also remaining constructive.
