Your story is important. We all give meaning to our own experiences, and sometimes our attempts to "make sense of it all" leave us feeling hopeless, inadequate, confused, lost, or angry. The "reasons" we act or feel the way we do are not always clear, and it can take a little digging to get to the root of things. The negative thoughts and feelings that exist within us can become draining and exhausting when we don't know what to do with them. Sometimes, because of the way we feel about ourselves, we struggle to feel secure in our own identity. As a therapist, I am interested in your story - as you see it through your own lens.
As a clinician I do not pretend to know you better than you know yourself. Rather, I seek to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and try to do so with compassion and respect. I am LGBT-identified, and affirming/welcoming of all identities. I work with clients pre-teen (11-12ish) or older, but working with teens and young adults is my jam.
My goal is to help empower you to recognize the influence you have over the way your own story unfolds, and the meaning you are able to create from it. My style is eclectic and suited to best match the you, the client. I often pull from approaches including CBT, Internal Family Systems(IFS), Narrative therapy, & Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).
