You may be experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, or perhaps you feel generally overwhelmed. You may feel stuck and seek to improve your coping strategies for living well. Perhaps you seek insight into your own mind, and/or your relationships. My therapy work is grounded in the knowledge that we are social mammals, and our connections with others impacts how we function. I believe strongly that acknowledging systems of power and oppression is relevant in the therapy space; it encourages awareness and understanding of adaptive functioning, and helps illuminate paths of desired change and healing.
My expertise includes addressing problematic substance use, the exploration of family systems, and the various pathways to recovery. Therapy work includes learning about the nervous system and brain to understand the phsysiological experience of being human. I seek to understand your worldview and to honor your lived experiences to best support your goals.
For therapy to be most effective, clients must feel seen and feel safe. To promote this setting, I use humor, curiosity, deep compassion, and candor. Always, I seek to empower others. I think I'm funny, I often swear, and I insist on all humans being treated with dignity. I office within an Intersectional Feminist Collective where all bodies are welcome.
