I chose social work to be part of a helping profession and have had the privilege of practicing in New York where I received my MSW from Fordham University, California, and now Texas. My experience focuses on individuals and their families during life’s most challenging journeys: sudden trauma, medical complications, hospitalizations, organ transplants, hospice, and incarceration. While specializing in these challenges, I am equally happy with counseling individuals and couples through life’s daily hurdles. I use evidence-based, therapeutic techniques guided by attachment theory, trauma-informed care and a healthy dose of humor.
My counseling philosophy can be traced back to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz – You’ve had the power all along. Connection is a key to growth and change. To be heard and encouraged is to explore your challenges, fears and most importantly your strengths. It is ok to be afraid and unsure how to start.
