I have many years' experience in and a passion for treating infants, toddlers, preschoolers, children and adolescents and their families dealing with a variety of issues including the following: adjustment difficulties, trauma, divorce, attachment difficulties, social problems, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, and developmental delays. I can provide psychological evaluations when needed to help identify areas of difficulty and of strength, and to guide treatment direction. I also provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents and their families.
While working from an attachment perspective and a relational focus, I also incorporate strategies from treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy that have proven effective in addressing certain symptoms.
As parents are central to their children's lives, it is important to me to involve parents actively in their child's treatment while at the same time maintaining the privacy needed by some adolescents in order to progress in treatment.
