Hello! It's great to meet you! My name is Kristin Hammond, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 23 years of clinical experience working with adults, couples, and some adolescence. I work with many issues, including anxiety, health anxiety, panic, depression, life stressors, family dysfunction, relationship issues, self-esteem, and other emotional and behavioral issues. I mainly draw from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Holistic, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), and Supportive therapies. I believe one of the biggest keys to success in treatment is having a connection with your therapist.
I do like to set goals for your therapy. Your treatment will be based on your needs and at a pace where you feel comfortable. Ultimately, you are the one that develops your goals with assistance from me. We must explore what you want to work on and what you want to get out of therapy. I want to be able to share this with you and help you along your journey.
During the first session, I try to work on developing rapport and trust. Again, your comfort level is essential to me. I will also focus on gathering history and necessary information to help me understand your needs better. We can get to know each other and determine if I am the right person for you.
