About
Fear, anxiety, and shame are often the root causes of many of our society’s mental struggles and concerns. If you feel like you are in a pit of despair or stuck in your pattern of thinking, you may need help getting a new focus or sharing your burden with someone who can listen. My specialty is adolescents or young adults who are struggling with depression or anxiety. With children, I will implement play therapy as a means to gain trust and insight into his/her motivations and the crisis present. My philosophy and interventions are faith based, research supported, and very solution focused.
Twenty-three as a teacher, nine years as a certified school counselor, thirty years as a mother, and thirty-four years as a wife have opened many life opportunities for me to gain much wisdom and insight into life’s struggles.. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling at SHSU and I am pursuing a play therapy certificate as well as my LPC.
Helping you see your worth, find lasting hope and courage in the darkest situations, and turn crippling anxiety into positive goal-setting energy in a warm, unconditionally accepting partnership is what I am committed to bring to our counseling relationship. I hope you will ask me to walk with you to new perspectives and purposes in your one and only life.
