I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds. While I tend conceptualize from a psychodynamic perspective, my treatment tends towards a more integrative model. I often use treatment techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused treatment. I believe that one theory alone is not necessarily going to apply to every individual from a multitude of cultures and backgrounds.
My belief is that the healing process consists of a collaborative experience in which clients actively participate in developing their treatment plan. Problems such as anxiety, depression and other psychological and behavioral disturbances often reflect concerns related to current interpersonal problems, as well as, the continuing influence of past experiences.
The ability to freely explore these self-imposed limitations and patterns will enrich life, relationships, and daily functioning.
