Understanding the self is the first step toward change. Through compassion, reflection and skill development one has the opportunity to remove obstacles in the form of beliefs, mobilize one's inner resources, reduce suffering and create a more meaningful life. I have worked with adults who have survived trauma/abuse, struggled with problems in mood and thought and experienced self-worth injuries.
My background has included work with a diverse range of people with the common search to find acceptance, belonging and peace of mind. My work with others involves using crises as opportunities for making life changes by reinforcing resilience and developing a more compassionate relationship with oneself.
Guided by an integrated approach to anxiety, depression, and trauma/abuse, I incorporate an emphasis on body-emotional awareness to foster sustained mental health. This background has been informed by experience in neuropsychology and biofeedback as well. I am also a registered yoga teacher.
