Hello there! My name is Kristen Provost and I am a Therapist at Mid-Mitten Psychological Services. I am a fully licensed Social Worker and obtained my Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. My approach to therapy is to use person-centered therapeutic techniques with the most commonly used modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I obtained my graduate degree in 2017 and became fully licensed in 2019. I have worked as an outpatient therapist and an inpatient behavioral health social worker for about 10 years. I have worked with a significant variety of demographics and populations, including folks who have severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Therapy is not a "one size fits all" - all clients have unique and individual pasts that have led them to where they are today. Seeking therapy is a big step and can be a prosperous journey. I am here to walk beside clients while they are taking the steps to accomplish their life worth living goals. I strive to provide a safe and judgement free atmosphere.
