Hello! My name is Kristen Nickol, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. With almost 10 years of experience in the field, my goal is to create a safe space for my clients by meeting them where they are and helping them on their journeys to becoming the best versions of themselves. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, depression, relationships, and autism spectrum disorder.
In therapy, I am non-judgmental and empathetic to my client's needs and utilize a strengths-based approach. In order to help clients meet their goals, I incorporate elements of CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
During the first session, clients should expect to share their reason(s) for seeking out therapy and bring any questions or concerns they may have for me or about the therapeutic process. I hope to get to know the client and his/her hopes and goals, while also beginning to build a therapeutic alliance.
