Sometimes life brings about circumstances that cause you to feel stress, overwhelmed, anger, anxiety, or depression. Sometimes it is hard to identify what is causing those feelings or how to feel happy and healthy in the environments that are contributing to your feelings. Using a strengths based approach, I can help you develop stronger coping skills, build resiliency, improve relationships, communication, and overall well being. By using a strengths based approach, an individualized treatment plan is developed to best suit the client's therapy goals.
For therapy to be successful, I believe the client must feel comfortable with their therapist. It is important to me to provide a safe and trusting environment where client's feelings can be explored in a setting that allows them to feel comfortable. Once comfort is established, change can begin to take place.
I have worked in the field for 13 years and have worked with teens, adults, and families. I have experience working with in various treatment settings including Hospice, emergency room psychiatric screening, and working with teens with developmental disabilities and learning disabilities as part of a high school Child Study Team.
