About
Hello, I am Kristen Larson, LCSW. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from DePaul University. My experience includes working with adolescents and adults. My clinical experience consists of working within the community environment as well as a behavioral health hospital. My specialties include working with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, behavioral problems, substance use and addiction. I have experience working with patients at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient level of care for mental health, substance use, and disordered eating behaviors.
I have training and professional interest in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Problem-Centered approach and Crisis Intervention. I prefer to use a client-centered approach while meeting the individual where you are at. I believe you are the best narrator of your story, and I am along to help guide you.
I enjoy assisting my clients in developing new coping skills and working to apply them in their daily lives. Taking the role as a therapist is an honor as you are letting me into your life at what might be your most vulnerable time.
