This is a beginning; change is difficult. It's strength, not weakness, to seek help and make changes. Learning how to see our behaviors from a different perspective is valuable. Healing often comes through verbalizing our feelings. You will feel heard, respected, validated, receive constructive feedback and gain greater insight and understanding in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I focus on your strengths as a means to help facilitate change and promote independence. I am a very down-to-earth person and I am often told by my clients that it's easy to talk and relate to me.
I mainly work with clients diagnosed with Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help them acquire Coping Skills for Anger, Low Self-Esteem, Relationship issues, and Parenting. One can gain self-awareness and acceptance by identifying thought patterns and the feelings and behaviors those thoughts initiate.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for traumatic memories. During a traumatic event, strong emotions interfere with our capability to process the experience and one moment becomes "frozen in time." Those feelings are triggered in the present. After EMDR, the memory still exists, but it's much less upsetting.
