My name is Dr. Krista Nelson, and I have extensive training in the multidimensional diagnosis and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, addiction issues, trauma-related mental health concerns, eating disorders, personality disorders, and more. I believe in the power of therapy to assist healing for my clients. I am predominantly a CBT therapist, but I have an extensive toolbox of training utilizing other therapeutic techniques. As a clinician, I believe that the first step to improving mental health issues is the development of rapport and trust between the client with their therapist. I want to see you feel better!
I am trained as a Counseling Psychologist. I received my PhD in 2012 from Louisiana Tech University in Counseling Psychology. Additionally, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arkansas since 2004. I have extensive treatment experience working with adolescents and children as well as adults.
In therapy, I want my clients to feel it is a collaborative relationship where we establish goals for them and work together. I am a proponent of improving self-esteem. I believe that improving feelings of self-value enhance the treatment experience. During my therapy sessions, often self-esteem is addressed to identify how to improve self-worth feelings.
