If you've ever watched a film like Ladybird and thought "that's just like me and my parent", you've come to the right place! Our relationships impact how we see ourselves and the world, which can play a role in our mental health. Through an affirming approach, I focus on helping individuals explore their various identities (racial, gender, romantic, etc.) and examine how relationships with their family of origin can play a role in these identities and overall life experiences. I also help clients process the curveballs thrown at us otherwise known as life transitions.
I believe in providing a space where individuals feel seen and heard, but most importantly, where they feel the freedom to be their true selves. Through a person-centered approach, I like to create an atmosphere of acceptance and non-judgment, where we can collaborate in exploring your pains, joys, unknowns, and more in a safe setting.
Although vulnerability can be scary at times, you are making a powerful and courageous decision in taking this initiative towards your mental health. While you are ultimately the expert of your life experience, I hope that I can provide a sense of connection, safety, and perspective as we navigate these experiences in therapy.
