About
Krista graduated with her master's degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 2020. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz in 2016 and minored in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. She received her training through internships with LI Against Domestic Violence and LI Coalition for the Homeless. Krista has more than two and a half years of experience providing counseling for children, teens, adults and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She also provided counseling for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as individuals experiencing homelessness.
Krista provides services to various clients struggling with issues such as: anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, self-esteem, and more. She utilizes several approaches such as: Person-centered, Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Empowerment Approaches, Solution-Focused, Strength-Based, and Trauma Informed Therapy in order to help her clients.
Krista creates a comfortable environment by providing a warm and compassionate tone and presence with her clients. She finds that the therapeutic relationship can be the biggest factor in a positive therapeutic experience. Krista's main goal in treating clients is to help them feel empowered and gain a sense of control over their lives.
