Coming in for therapy is a courageous and self-compassionate step. I work with individuals and couples, and specialize in complex trauma, perinatal issues, immigrant-related issues, and LGBTQ+ populations.
I believe each person is the expert in their own life, and that therapy works best as a collaboration. Stress, anxiety, and circumstances outside our control can make it hard to see where our lives are heading — and most of us get stuck in patterns that no longer serve us. I help clients recognize these patterns and understand why they exist. These insights help clients find their own way to resolve what they're facing.
I draw on a relational lens and psychodynamic thinking to understand how patterns form, while grounding the work in mindfulness, self-compassion, and a social justice framework. I see each person as a whole: mind, body, emotions, social context, and spirit — and I bring that awareness to help clients understand their situation and move toward what they need.
