Sometimes, old stories are built into our current awareness that no longer serve our needs. Grief, complex trauma, and unresolved issues become stuck in our thoughts and behaviors. Our energy becomes encased in worry or fears. Psychotherapy can reduce suffering, release tension, and build insight to the patterns that no longer serve us. Through compassion, acceptance, and nonjudgmental feedback, healing begins to shape a new story - the story of the life that we desire. Emotional safety is a priority at Korb Counseling as we work with your goals toward healing. Group counseling and meditation classes are also offered.
I practice mindful awareness and acceptance of the whole self. Compassionate space is provided to process difficult emotions and build insights through the careful balance of validation and challenge. I am certified through David Kessler as a Grief Educator and I am an advocate for bereavement law reform.
It is often difficult to open up our vulnerabilities and begin talking about issues that are overwhelming or that we have protected. Together, we can work to resolve issues and build awareness through growth and healing. Mental health is best nurtured through mutual collaboration with you towards treatment goals.

Healing in Grief: Bereavement and Loss
Managing grief can be lonely and vulnerable. “Bereavement and Loss” will offer therapeutic tools to support your process while we share, connect, and build insights to your grief experience. Sessions will include: Psychoeducation on the interwoven stages of grief • A safe space to share your grief with others • An opportunity to heal through listening and connecting with others • Building insight into emotions without judgment • How your experience is similar and different than others • How to manage the newness of what’s next • Mindfulness meditation and techniques (non-religious) to support healing.
