You are not broken or in need of repair. The fact that you have arrived in this space in the midst of social injustice, unrest, and day-to-day living is a testament to your resilience. Whether you would like to become more proactive with your mental health, learn how to navigate racial trauma, or learn coping skills and techniques for managing stress and anxiety, we can work together to accomplish your goals.
My therapeutic approach is supportive and humanistic. I include evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and meditation, and solution-focused interventions, based on the needs of the client before me. My belief is that no two clients are alike, and it is only through collaboration that we can determine the best treatment path for you.
I am a Black, male-identified therapist who takes an Afrocentric trauma-informed approach to my work with the African diaspora and provides trauma-informed care to my clients who do not identify with this group. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space for validation, compassion, empowerment, and encouragement. I'm Dr. AJ Deloney. Let's collaborate.
