About
Are you feeling frustrated and stuck? Do you sense that you can do better? Are familiar coping responses no longer serving you as well as they used to? With over 15+ years of experience, I provide virtual counseling for adults that is secure and completely confidential. My specialty is in developmental trauma, which can leave an indelible impact on our adult functioning, relationships and bodies. I am particularly interested in studying and treating trauma's impact on men’s sexual development, such as unwanted sexual urges, sexual-identity confusion, addictions and fetishes. These issues require a value-neutral and nuanced approach.
Most traditional talk therapies are “thought based” cognitive approaches that only take clients so far. My approach - a blend of psychodynamic, IFS and Sensorimotor therapy - can help clients access deeper layers of their unconscious as well as their own body's natural capacity to heal. I work with many people whose prior therapy was unsuccessful.
My work specifically focuses on helping people gain more self-compassion and patience; manage familiar bouts of self-hatred, guilt, rumination, obsessiveness and perfectionism; challenge ingrained myths about Self and the world; “try on” and then internalize more mature ways of coping; heal from past traumas using the body’ natural resources.
