Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
DBT skills group is a 6-month group that provides skills to empower clients to find the balance between accepting reality and changing unwanted behaviors, emotions, thoughts, and responses. The DBT skills group will focus on the following 4 main skills: Mindfulness is consciously bringing attention to feelings without judgment. Distress Tolerance: These skills center on accepting and coping with pain and distressing life events. Emotion Regulation: These skills include identifying obstacles to changing emotions and increasing positive emotions. Interpersonal Effectiveness: Teach us how to get what we want and need in life, while maintaining relationships and self-respect.
