Navigating a child's struggle with big emotions, school, or friendships can feel overwhelming. It's a common reason why parents seek therapy, often because they are seeing their child act out, withdraw, or simply not be themselves. My name is Kitzia Lopez & I am the owner of North City Counseling where we offer a supportive space for children & teens. You'll be working with a team of skilled professionals, consisting of both fully licensed & supervised pre-licensed clinicians. Take a moment to view the photo gallery below & read the brief descriptions to start connecting with the therapists who best suits your needs.
Play therapy helps children process their feelings & experiences in a way that feels natural to them. For teens/pre-teens, we use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & EMDR. We also work collaboratively with parents to enhance their parenting skills & provide guidance on how to best support their child's emotional growth at home.
Parenting is one of the most rewarding & challenging journeys, & it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed when your child is struggling. Our role is to be a supportive partner in this experience, offering not just a safe space for your child, but also guidance and encouragement for you as a parent. Visit our website to schedule an initial consultation.
