Announcement icon I am offering tele-therapy (video or phone) during this unsettled time of social distancing! Contact for a free 20-minute phone screening.
I believe the only expert in a client's life is the client themselves. With this in mind, I generally practice Rogerian therapy, where the client takes an active and autonomous role in their own healing. I strive to demonstrate empathy and unconditional positive regard. As Carl Rogers did, I believe that all people have the ability to bring about meaningful change in their lives, and the therapist's role is to guide clients to a greater understanding of their own power and facilitate the acquisition of positive skills. I am interested in working with individuals who are motivated to change and have a desire to help themselves.
I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of settings, including residential facilities at New Day and Aware, and for YBGR in the Laurel Middle School as a CSCT therapist. I also worked with adults while part of the PACT team at the Mental Health Center in Billings.
I aim to demonstrate compassion and acceptance to all my clients, and believe that developing and maintaining therapeutic rapport is important for successful therapy, allowing the therapist and client to work together without judgement to discover solutions. I will utilize a variety of modalities and adapt them to the client's specific needs and challenges.
