How do you know what you want?
How do you know if you are in the right relationship(s)?
How do you know if you're safe?
The answer to these questions are in your body, and somatic therapy can help translate your body's insights into relief. I specialize in helping people befriend their nervous systems and learn to listen to their bodies to resolve trauma, navigate chronic pain, and gain insight necessary for change.
As a queer and nonbinary person, I understand the importance of shared identity with a
therapist, and work to create a safe space for queer, trans, kinky, and polyamorous folks to bring their full selves into therapy.
My approach to somatic therapy includes viewing the body as both a source of vital data for healing and as a vehicle for intervention in our sessions. I integrate somatics with traditional talk therapy approaches like Internal Family Systems (parts work). I also believe in laughter, memes, and gossip as key aspects of the therapeutic change process.
If we work together, know that sessions move at your pace, and are tailored to your needs. We'll move as slowly or as quickly as we need to help your brain identify the changes you want to see and your body catch up to where you are today. If what you read here resonates, feel free to give me a call or send an email.
